Christos Kalloniatis
Director of the Postgraduate Programme by Research (MScRes)

Dr. Christos Kalloniatis holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Athens University of Applied Sciences (ATEI of Athens), a Master’s degree from the Department of Computer Science of the University of Essex, and a PhD from the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of the University of the Aegean. He currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication at the University of the Aegean and is the Director of the PrivaSI Laboratory “Privacy Protection Technologies and Informatics Applications in the Social Sciences. He served as Head of the Department from 2020 to 2024 and as Deputy Head from 2017 to 2020 in the same department. He is a full member of the Plenary of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA) and has also served as a member of the Plenary of the Hellenic Authority for Communication Security and Privacy (ADAE). His research interests include the analysis and modeling of security and privacy requirements in traditional information systems, as well as in cloud computing and artificial intelligence environments, privacy-enhancing technologies, and issues related to security and privacy protection in cultural information systems. He is the author of more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences and has served as a visiting professor at European universities. Prior to starting his academic career, Dr. Christos Kalloniatis served in various positions in public administration, including the North Aegean Regional Authority and the Ministry of Interior, Decentralization and E-Government. He is a collaborator of the Information and Communication Systems Security Laboratory of the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering at the University of the Aegean, as well as of the Secure Systems Laboratory of the University of Piraeus. He has participated in a large number of research and development projects.
