Costas Mylonas

Costas Mylonas is a Research and Development Software Engineer at UBITECH, specializing in the design and implementation of data-driven energy services and smart grid analytics. He received his Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2016, and his M.Sc. in Energy Science and Technology from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), Switzerland, in 2020. During his master’s studies, he conducted research at the ABB Corporate Research Center in Switzerland. He has more than nine years of experience developing advanced algorithms for dynamic pricing, optimization models for virtual power plants (VPPs) targeting aggregators, and AI-based digital assistants leveraging Generative AI/LLMs. His work supports digital empowerment and energy literacy for citizens, as well as decision support for grid operators through active learning, digital twins, and explainable AI techniques. He is actively involved in research on state-of-the-art AI and data-driven approaches for the energy sector and plays a key technical role in multiple EU-funded research and innovation projects supported by the European Commission, contributing to deep-tech energy solutions, use-case design, and technical requirements definition.
