Board Member

Daniel van den Hove is an experienced executive, board member, and academic specialising in digital transformation, IT strategy, and enterprise governance. He is currently Partner at Asfalys, where he advises senior leaders in both the private and public sectors on executing digital transformation, strengthening governance and strategic alignment, and optimising investments to deliver tangible business outcomes. His work is grounded in recognised best-practice frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, ValIT, RiskIT, eSCM, and SIAM. Deeply engaged in the digital leadership community, Daniel van den Hove serves as Co-President of the Cercle du Numérique (CIO-Club) and as a Board Member of BELTUG, and is actively involved in professional associations including ISACA, CIONet, OCEG, and ECISG. He is a frequent speaker on the evolving role of the CIO, digital and IT trends, business–IT alignment, and enterprise governance. Alongside his advisory work, he has a strong academic profile as a Professor of strategy and IT governance, with long-standing teaching and academic leadership experience at Solvay Brussels School and other institutions, where he has designed and delivered executive education programmes such as The CIO Foundation and Retail and Technology. Earlier in his career, he held senior international leadership roles, including CIO and Corporate Vice President Global IS at Estée Lauder Group, multiple CIO positions, and global executive roles in technology, operations, customer care and business development, giving him a uniquely pragmatic and strategic perspective on digital leadership.

The M.Sc. by Reasearch «Digital Circular Economy» was established as part of the European project 3D-CIRCULAR (Digital Deep tech Driven Circular Economy) which began in August 2025, has a duration of four (4) years, and is co-funded by the European Union through the IGITAL-2024-ADVANCED-DIGITAL-07 program (Contract No. 101226256).
